Brachial Plexopathy Due to Upper-Extremity Deep Vein Thrombosis: A Case Report

چکیده
Upper-extremity deep vein thrombosis (DVT) accounts for 1% to 4% of DVT cases. Brachial plexus injury can result from venous distention due in the upper extremity, leading neurologic deficits. We report a patient diagnosed with brachial plexopathy caused by extremity. A 66-year-old female medical history Parkinson disease and dementia presented emergency department drowsy mental status. She was pre-renal acute kidney multi-organ dysfunction. On second hospital day, right extremity edema muscle weakness were observed. sixth patient’s overall condition improved after conservative treatment, but severe noticed, did not show significant improvement Computed tomography showed multifocal pulmonary thromboembolism arteries, superior vena cava, popliteal veins. After anticoagulant administration, swelling subsided, entire improve. Electromyography demonstrated pan-plexopathy involving upper, middle, lower trunks. follow-up examination no strength function at 3 months first day.

Upper-extremity deep vein thrombosis (UEDVT) is an increasingly important clinical entity with potential for considerable morbidity. Pulmonary embolism (PE) is present in up to one third of patients with UEDVT.1 Other complications, such as persistent upper-extremity pain and swelling, the superior vena cava (SVC) syndrome, and loss of vascular access, can be disabling and devastating.2 Althoug...

Upper-extremity venous thrombosis often presents as unilateral arm swelling. The differential diagnosis includes lesions compressing the veins and causing a functional venous obstruction, venous stenosis, an infection causing edema, obstruction of previously functioning lymphatics, or the absence of sufficient lymphatic channels to ensure effective drainage. The following recommendations are ma...

Upper limbs deep vein thrombosis is a rare event in patients, although increasing incidence is seen due to higher cancer diagnosis rate and the use of various vascular catheters. A 58-year-old man with a history of anemia was scheduled for radical prostatectomy due to prostate adenocarcinoma. The patient underwent surgery under general anesthesia. After surgery, he was transferred to the intens...

he shoulder is one of the most commonly dislocated joints in the body, accounting for nearly 45% of all dislocations. Approximately 85% of glenohumeral dislocations are anterior, and they are typically the result of an acute traumatic event. Typically, these injuries involve disruption of the anterior aspect of the glenoid labrum, joint capsule, or rotator cuff tendons; associated fracture of t...
